"Poetic" "Sparing" "Dark" "Intimate"--these are some of the adjectives used to describe Erik Balkey's CDs in the past. This one is all that, but add "charming" "fun" and "happy go lucky" as well. Balkey delivers some real winning tunes here. "She Sleeps" and "Goodnight Lily" will have you humming for days. And for you Prine fans, check out "Nowhere Fast." Make sure not to miss the last three songs in the "River City Folk Interview." They are outstanding. This CD is singer-songwriter music at its best. Highly recommended.
